I guess most often times we tend to do too much or too little with the food we make and it turned out to be the unnecessary. This menu is the perfect example; A former Crab Rangoons, the famous and the most asked for snacks/appetizers in many Thai/Chinese restaurant abroad. All the credits go to the first Chinese cook who ever invented this all time favorite bites. Many experiments have been put into changing these babies into some fancy bites, salmon, shrimp…etc. It’s all back to basic, the best version is the most simple one… either lump crab meat or nothing at all for vegetarians here we add just a bit of extra sweet and sour touch, our home made version-Thai style.
—Recipes: Serve 4-6
—For the stuffing: Mix together 250 grams of room temperature cream cheese, 1/4 Cup of shredded carrot (juice squeezed out), and 1/4 Cup of thinly sliced green onion :: Season lightly with salt and black pepper
—Stuff the gyoza wrappers with the stuffing and fry till crispy
—For the sweet and sour dipping sauce: Simmer together 1 cup of unbleached sugar, 3/4 cup of distilled white vinegar, 1/4 Cup of water, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 Cup of shredded carrots (juice squeezed out), 1 smashed cilantro root, and 2-4 smashed bird chilies : Simmer on medium heat until thicken–cool and serve
